Mary Vince was born about 1784. At the age of 19 she was murdered by James Vince, a relative of her mother's, who stabbed her in her bed with a knife.
James was declared insane and ordered to be kept 'in a secure place until recovered of his insanity or lunacy'.

William Vince married Sarah or Mary Lappage in Layham 23 September 1815.
